for the 14+ years i have been here, it's always been about the customers, the relationships, and the satisfaction of the customer. service at many companies have gone the way of the Edsel. non-existent. the impersonal contact with the internet is a necessary evil that's called progress. i have always had the goal of exceeding my customers' expectations and will continue to do so. ask the ones who i talk to on a daily basis how they feel about the service i provide. not to mention the rest of the team we have here. if any employee does not feel the same way, they should not be in this industry.
a name does not a company make. it's the people.
Why don't you call your Regional Manager from SMH for a detailed explanation of the changes?
lets count the ways...
1 TN: Gone
2 CA: Gone
3 IL: Parts packaging says Total Source
4 KS SMH Invoicing HAD all 3 logo's, as of Jan 1 LPM/Intrupa not there
5 SMHCO website. Now makes NO mention of the takeover
6 Advertising.: Again did have all three logo's.... not this month
From what I have read here you worked for IMC Grayslake now SMH Grayslake.. What have you heard?
It is amazing what a free enterprise and electronic communications system will do. All dealers OEM or otherwise will sell parts any where they so desire - my experiences showed me for the last 40 years. The end user benefits as parts prices become more competitve - void of the 30 - 50% mark-ups above suggested sell price.
Have you noticed lately that parts from your local Ford dealer are within a few percentage points of the Auto Zone, O'Reilly, etc. etc. prices. Time & free enterprices changes everthing.
They will give you a song and dance answer, that's what you will only get. If I'm soliciticed over the internet, I will sell to anyone, in or outsude of my APR. Who would not do this! Intrupa, SMH or TVH would sell to anyone if called upon, everyone must remember that they are in the busines of selling parts. That is what they do. Has anyone seen how the WAR in IRAQ is going, as previously stated ?
Genius. Like asking Rumsfeld how Iraq is going.
Why don't you give them a call and ask the same question? Maybe they can refer you to a customer that has experience with both TVH and SMH.
Good question-- and Euro's out there with experience with TVH....what's it like?
I've heard they'll sell direct to your customers. True/false, anyone with personal experience?
I've always thought it was interesting how they were a dealer/wholesaler/supplier/competitor, etc, etc.
You say that as if you have knowledge of something? Or do we need to JUST WAIT & SEE?
Being in Europe how does TVH do business?
Wait and see what is going to happen...
Did anybody attend the open house this weekend? If so, did you learn anything about SMH/TVH long term goals?
thanks Dave. it was great working with you in the warehouse. i've been thru quite a few take overs as well. hopefully this will turn out differently. only time will tell.
