I have my answer. But I want to hear feedback from you other trainers around the globe.

Train the Trainer. 3 staff. Competent operators. Never trained. Looking to become in-house trainers. sit-down counterbalance, narrow aisle reach and power walkie/rider, all battery.

How long (time-wise) would you guys quote for this train the trainer program. Not interested in price. Just duration of course.

Thanks for your answer, Joe. I will chime in again once I see more responses and opinions from others. Keep checking in. A surprise for you!

At National LIFTOR, it depends upon what our client wants the new instructor to be able to do and accomplish. Our standard length of time can be as little as six (6) days.

However, because supervisor/instructors learn at different rates, I've seen my time expand up to 20 days. Some candidates drop-out due to the rigor expected of them, and hence, never become instructor/examiners under our proprietary standards. So, duration is variable, and is dependent upon how fast each learner can learn from the available coaching, standards, learning objectives, individual time they invest outside of the classroom, physical conditions of the forklift, workplace, and the extent of authority they have to command resources in their own environment.

When designing such training, we mostly conform to the ANSI/ASSE Z490.1 (2009) Consensus Standard.

For more information about our philosophy, you can surf to LIFTOR and read any of the Dear George letters.

Best wishes.

Joe
