They used to make good lifts,
Stil have several 2fbe,5fbe,fbm and fbmf and a 5fbre in service.
They are old, but never any huge issues. Just usual maintenance issues and some issue due to age. Failing contactors eg.
When the 7 e series came to market, the sh.t hits the fan.
At this point many switched to linde trucks, bit more expesive.
The 8's seem a bit better( cesab....... mm), but never anywhere near to linde

I have several cold store customers and Linde machines are far superior in this and any application.
Go for linde....
Had bt toyota freezer edition in service.
Only problems with it.
In 6 months turntablebearing to sh...t, 2 year later again. And again,again and again. There ar NO greasepoints on this and as dry as sh..t
Sensors broken because of this, alll very expensive.
Broken hydr.hose(customer error), special size fittings, had to wait 6 weeks for parts !!!!!!
Next switch/poti heater kaput, also very expansieve.
Heatercore defect, could by a nice used car for it....
Strange error codes, had to call toyota tech for relearning the ecm's
Not once but several times.
Cant do anything with the cankey in this situations...
All in just 5 years
Recomended customer to not buy a toyota again.

Recommend you reconsider, maintaining these machines for a few years now and can't say anything to recommend them.
make sure you take out full maintenance including parts!
heard a few complaints about VERY costly parts failing, only
yesterday I was speaking with an engineer who's customer scrapped a not very old truck (about 4 year old) because of a £5000 quote to repair!!
hopefully as forkingabout has mentioned the newer models have improved.
It will be the new RRE 140 H series truck.
The truck is highly customable, make sure you spec the truck for functions & features correctly for your intended use & application when you order it.
Hearing good reports so far but its early days.
