We have a weird starting problem. Sometimes will start. We have spark, timing is on and good compression. If we spray starting fluid or carb cleaner in carb, it will not start. But if we blow air down the carb while cranking, it will start right up and run as long as there is some throttle applied, but will dies when throttle is released and will not start until air is blown in carb again. If anyone has any ideas or suggestion, please let me know. Thanks

That is a test I found seems to work OK What type of regulator(propane) is it. (aisin) or impco?
Hi Rich,
I've owned my fork lift for less than 24 hrs and that's exactly what I did when it did not start. Thought it was kinda neat to see your post.
Being new to Toyota LPG fork lifts...is this a know regulator problem as it seems to be intermittent. Also..who is a trusted online parts supplier? Thanks for your time and any help you can forward.
Don
Pull propane line off at carb and hold half inch from port and if it starts you have a regulator problem
Did you see if the slow path on the regulator is working? It sounds like the regulator may need some attention. Have you drained the oil out of the regulator?
We pulled the carb off and the intake is clear and I even ran a boriscope in the runners and they look clear also.
Check the inlet manifold for blockage or restriction.
