Hello I'm a noob here and to forklifts in general although I had a job 30 years ago as a material handler.
I bought this Drexel swing mast and drove it off the trailer and up my driveway. Then I went to fixing minor stuff. The glow plugs wouldn't turn off, cooling fans were worn out, rats chewed off some wires on top of the transmission, put in a new seat, batteries were changed, and new oil in the engine. The lift truck was parked on an incline for a couple of months while I ordered parts and found time to do the repairs. It also would only drive in low range off the trailer. Upon reconnecting the chewed wiring the high range light now comes on but the transmission now is not working. When I first started it after everything was completed it wouldn't move forward or reverse, I gave it more throttle with no response until it lurched in reverse almost jumping the wheel chocks. Now its back to doing nothing. I drained and refilled the transmission oil, moved it to level ground without any success. The forks move like they should, the engine runs fine and there are no unusual noises anywhere. I tried disconnecting the wires I repaired so it was the same as it was when it came off the trailer but that didn't help either. Looking for advice, Thank You
