count the flashes when the fault occurs. it sounds like the throttle full closed and full open switches might be at fault. the little recycled beer can tab that makes up the switch when the throttle closes gets bent. this is hard to explain but here goes.... the bracket that moves when the stepper motor is active has a little tab welded to it that actuates the switch at full idle (the one with the bellows) that tab has two angles...at the weld then at the switch and the two should equal 90 degrees 45 then 45. when you look its probably bent at a right angle at the weld. bend it back into place and try it again. there's a lot more to this adj but its too much for my fat incomplete fingers to type.
