It looks like error codes are slightly different for my early Nissan or at least what I was able to find with a search.
F-87: reverse solenoid
F-85: forward solenoid

Only seen one solenoid, right on top. Note 4 wires, 2 blacks, 2 whites.

Yes agreed, of course, once the ecu errors, it would cut feed to the solenoid. Then obviously it will appear dead to probe. Makes sense.

This YL025U does seem to be a bit of a rarity, not many Google hits. However tag does say "model variation" so maybe the real model is something that once appeared on the side panel?
This forklift has had more hits than the Beatles!!
