Discussion:
Raymond Picker Noise

I have a raymond picker 8120E4RTT serial # 812 E4RTT 2629 that makes loud engine sound. If I operate it longer than 10 minutes it smells hot on the left side of the lift mast. Any ideas what might be the problem?

As I recall, that has a resistor to control the speed and it is mounted along side the mast (2 feet tall and has vents in the top). That will get very hot while operating the truck. That would not be related to any motor/drive noise.
