working on a Crown PE 4000- S# 6A259698 that wont lift or travel. I dont see any codes, the Battery is good and the unit seems to turn on and the motor controller does have a heartbeat. When the handle is pulled down the line contactor does not close and there is no control power going to it. when the lift switch is activated there is no control power going to the lift solenoid. I am thinking there is a broken wire maybe at the tiller arm bend. Im hoping someone has a wire diagram. Thanks in advance for the help.

I would start by making sure you have more than 20 volts. Then check and make sure FU2 is not blown or the holder not faulty. Check CA404 plug on the controller and make sure all pins are good.

Yes sir you might check to see if it has battery retainer switches sometimes they go bad or the wiring to them can get damaged. This will cause no travel.
@Yidneck Good point! Been awhile since I've had my hands on an older truck. That being said... Probably need to check, load sensor (transducer), HSS, Accel POT... Then from there controller (settings) and/or trac motor/trac motor brushes.
PE4000 needs a Curtis handset. No buttons for operators to mess with unless it's the 4500
Did the performance level get changed to P2 or P3? Pretty common when drivers start pushing buttons not knowing what they are doing!
I have a pe4000-60 and everything works but it is like someone turned the speed way down. Is there a way to turn it up? If so how?
Does this machine have a curtis controller? Do you have a handset/programmer to plug into it?
Yes I checked both fwd/Rev switches. Checked wiring going from handle to motor controller. All ok. I also removed the pot to try and center it and still shows the code 22. Like I was saying the pot will not zero out at neutral it only goes as low as.254 volts. So I'm going to try another pot to see if that does it. The dead man switch is ok also. Unit has a mechanical brake.
Fault code 22 is an SRO event. Normally a out of sequence situation
Have you checked your FWD & REV switches? Brake switch? Also check harness at pinch point(s).
Ok so after tapping lift solenoid it Now lifts but no travel. It's showing a code 22 on motor controller. I checked Forward switch and reverse switch and both ok, not stuck. I have 5 volts at pot and in neutral the brown signal wire shows.254 volt. It changes up to almost 5 volts as you move pot forward and reverse so there is a signal. Should pot show 0 volts at neutral? Also all wiring is ok from handle to controller. I also tried to adjust pot and no change. Im thinking either the pot or motor controller is defective. Also at contactor there's 24 volts and negative wire to controller is also ok. Controller won't activate contactor. What's missing?
Is your lift sol welded? Give it a couple good taps with a wrench or small hammer with power off. Then try power up and function test.
