Discussion:
ODS steering

This machine is an A/C unit with on demand steering. Most of the time it works great but some times the power assist is reduced by about 50% ( including motor speed ) but still responsive to steer wheel movement. When steer assist is reduced and I unplug the three wire plug at the motor, it goes in to high and I have full assist but goes back to reduced steering when plugged back in.
I replaced the steer sensor on the column and the trigger wheel on the column shaft is ok.
Is it the master or traction controller operate voltage for this function and how to check.
Thx

We had the laptop plugged in but would not register voltages for steering or any codes. Your saying there is a controller in the steer motor? I thought maybe a decoder on the end housing bearing.
Would you have a parts break down of the steer motor ?
thx for the reply BREWSKI

Sounds like the controller on top of the motor is failing.
