Discussion:
not engaging forward drive sometimes only

Morning, we have a forklift that is not forward engaging sometimes, we have check all fluid levels are OK.
I am worried this will get worst with time, the forklift is not used a great deal maybe 5 hours a week.
Any suggestions where else to check.
regards,
Mark J

I also have this model:42-4FG15, a 1985 year model. won't move forward or reverse. transmission fluid level OK. The fwd/reverse lever mechanically activates a lever on top of the transmission. does not appear that this model has electrical solenoid valves that operate fwd/rev function. All the mechanical linkage in intact. Suggestions?
