Discussion:
No Timing Marks on aftermarket Cylinder Heads

Hello. Our customers are complaining that the aftermarket cylinder heads we sell them do not have the timing marks as the OEM do. Any suggestions on how to deal with this issue? Is there an easy way to suggest on how to go about timing the engine without these markings?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Cheers!

Only thing i could suggest is to put the number one cylinder at top dead center and fabricating your own timing pointer of some sort

I know swoop223! Unfortunately this is the case of "you get what you pay for", but in a price sensitive economy like ours, customers are usually not willing to pay for the OEM parts. They do know that these parts are not as the OEM, but need to know if there is a way around not having those markings on the cyl heads.

take it up with whoever is supplying YOU with these parts.
They should have made some type of reparations for the descrepancy in the form of documentation that comes along with the part.
If they did not.. SHAME on them
Make them do it or get your parts elsewhere if possible

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
