Discussion:
No reverse buzzer

One of my customers has a problem with drivers damaging the reverse alarm so they dont have to listen to them buzz all day.

Today I have fitted another new alarm as the driver has piereced the speaker in the old one.

The alarm still doesnt work, I have found the reverse alarm relay and if I operate the relay manually (by removing the plastic and pressing the contact) the buzzer works.

The relay is not getting any signal from the ecu?

I have connected pathfinder and done the usual checks for the light(buzzer) settings and all seems fine.

The relay has an earth and im assuming the live is supplied by the ecu, I have checked the wire up to the ecu and all is good.

I have tried my ecu on another truck and the buzzer works fine.

Would anybody have a wiring diagram or any suggestios.

Thanks

My first thought would be check the ground wire second check and be sure they did not swap fuse to a different plug I had a customer that did that so alarm wouldn't sound. Also look into a smart alarm ?
The smart alarm has a low alarm until it senses noise then goes to loud
If you cannot find issue with the wiring I would suggest looking into the plug under the relay as well as fuse I have found loose pins in past
Take your meter to the plug on relay and check
For voltage and negative to relay as well as output to alarm if still in limbo please let me know I am a retired tech (43years ) over 22 on Linde

The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
