Crown RD 5000:
No power to strobe light

I have a RD 5000 that I suspect has a blown fuse... no power to the strobe. Not sure if the strobe can be activated and deactivated. I have unfortunately inherited this repair, so the details are a bit lacking. But what I do know is that the strobe lamp has been replaced and I know there is no power going to the housing. Not sure where the fuses are located and thought I would try the forum before ripping it all apart.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Well, we happened to have a Crown technician on site today doing some PM's and he had time to check this out for us. Turns out you were right about the negative making it to the strobe. The Tech found a wire had pulled out of a connector. He re-seated the wire and secured the bundle with a tie wrap. All is good for now! Thank you for your help!

There were three wires going to the strobe housing, red-black-white. There are only two wires on the strobe itself. Due to the position of the terminals when I put the housing back in, (the white and black wire were on top of each other) I am assuming (yeah, I know) that the black and white wires are (-) and the red wire is (+). I have since found out that the strobe get's B+ through FU-3...

now if I can just figure out how to get into the panel where the fuses are I can check that.

usually the strobe is powered when the key switch or other 'operator presence" is energized, but for this question, I would want to make sure you understand there should be a separate and isolated from the vehicle's frame battery negative circuit and wires.
do you have battery negative to the strobe?
