Discussion:
Mast leaks down

I have a dual cylinder mast, the forks will lower by them self. This happens with the engine running and off. There is no difference in speed with either. If there is a load it will lower faster.
Since there are two cylinders I do not think this is a piston seal blow by problem. What type of return to center or check valve is on this type of fork truck. I do not have a hydraulic diagram or maintenance manual. This is the reason for the question. Any help is greatly appreciated.

First off, check the emergency lower valve. It will be on the front of the control valve in the lift section. If it is tight the problem is in the lift section of the valve.
