Cat Lift Trucks (& Caterpillar) TC30:
main cilinder in mast (# D-30389) does not lower, unless i add about 130 lbs of weight

I removed the chains and the carriage lowers with no problem, the cilinder does not lower i disconnect the hidraulic hose from the control valve and the cilinder itself, and it will not lower i have to add weight in order for the cilinder to lower, Is there a check valve inside the cilinder? or is the packing keeping it from lowering?any suggestion before i repack the cilinder? it lifts ok and does not leak.....

i found that the pin holding the check valve inside broke damaging the gland and i had to replace the cilinder shell and the gland at the bottom it works great now
