Discussion:
Jerky forward movement

Hello, We have a Crown SC4520 and lately the forward movement is jerky. Moving in reverse is fine. we have checked out and reconditioned the battery. We do not get any error codes. A technician came out and said that both the gearboxes would need to be replaced. Have anyone else come across this and a possible solution. I am waiting for the crown factory tech to come out and let us know what is wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

With no event codes going off that usually rules out electrical issues. If the issue isn't happening when reversing it shouldn't be the gear boxes as the SCs don't have a sperate reverse and forward gear. If the drive motors are DC there could be an issue with the brushes or armature. It could be possible the motors are grounding out to the case.
Without event codes I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure what is wrong without a test drive.
