Discussion:
I would like to introduce my self

Hello, I just discovered this website! I have over 10 years experience as a road service mechanic at a crown dealership in the eastern united states. I also spend a lot of time working on non crown products, especialy nissans & toyotas, both I/C and electrics.
I was researching the idea of starting a web forum for fork lift machanics when I found this web site! I will recomend it to co-workers too.

Yes the forward and reverse switches are optical switches. its possible that they could be fouled by dirt or a forigen object, but it is more likly that one is broken. The crown RR 5000/5200 series trucks have built in diagnostic tools that can be used to test the operation of the swithes and potentiometers, you can view the operation of the switches on the acces 1 display screen. Do you know how to use that function?

codes 341 & 343 are showing a fault in one of the control handle forward & reverse switches. one of the switches is sticking closed, because code 343 is a detection of both switches closed at once.

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
