Discussion:
Hyster K1.0H Line sensor KO fault

HI We have this truck serial B460T01553H. We have a D line sensor KO fault. It has 2 steer tacho generators for steering. We have tried changing the tacho made no difference, checked wires back from the main tacho to steer controller and wires all check out ok. The second tacho wiring gets confusing as it comes back to a relay beneath the floor plate and I get reading across various points which do not make sense. Wass hoping someone can share a wiring diagram so I can trace the circuit back.

Will be taking a spare steer controller with me on next visit and would like to be prepared incase its not the steer controller.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry D Line sensor KO error

HI

I know this has been nearly 2 years. I had left the job because i was not getting anywhere with this. I had gone back today to look at another job and the customer has asked me to look at this again.

When we power up the truck on the display it says error on MOD 06, so when i plug my zapi handset into the MOD 06 steer controller, it display D Line Sensor KO.

Unfortunately I dont have any wiring diagrams to trace any wiring back. We tried another steer unit and had the same error.

Can anyone supply me with a manual or a wiring diagram for this truck please?

generic zapi ac steer manual states regarding D Line sensor KO the following:

This alarm occurs when the mean voltage on the Direct line of the stepper motor (connection CNA#9) is not null: the voltage on every
stepper motor line is a sine wave with null mean voltage. - Remedy: Check the continuity of the stepper motor connections. In particular
the resistance between CNA#9 and the minus battery (with the Page - 88/95 AEMZP0BA - EPS-AC0 - User Manualstepper motor at rest) is expected being very low (close to 30 ohms).

Hi sorry. Error on mod 06 is steering control. However when plugging into individual controllers, i get waiting for node or something about node on traction unit. Just trying to figure out what this node setting issue is.

I believe node 6 is the steering controller.

Just an update.

Managed to eventually get hold of a wiring diagram with the 2 stepper motors for steering. All the wiring checked out ok, no breaks and one relay had a contact that was faulty the set of 3 below the foot plate. Once that was sorted the truck steer did initialize however still has a fault saying error onod 06 contact service.

Plugged handset into.control and found that the traction controller had an issue saying something about waiting for node. Can anyone suggest what this node error on the traction unit means and how to rectify this please?

Regards

Thanks for the info. I went through the manual and also same as the one i had ahows only one steer wheel (taco) set up. This is an older truck still using the ac controller units same as in the diagram but cabin part is much more older.

I have some.more.check i can do thanks to the info you sent. Have already tried another steer taco. Next step will try EPS unit.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I have the error appearing on my zapi analyzer when.i have plugged direct into the AC EPS controller.

I found d line sensor error on a generic manual for the eps but one with only one steering wheel tacho. This truck has2 which is why i am struggling to trace tye wiring back.

Hope this info explains a bit more about my issue.

hi elektrodrive,
this sounds like an RTC type steering unit in this orderpicker.
Yale and hyster both had this option which basically is a multiturn type steering called 'stepper motor' control which uses the signal from the steering wheel tach generator to tell the steer motor which way to turn through the EPS controller.
Now the other type 'RTC' is return to center type steering option which utilizes a joystick type of operation so steering movement is not continuous movement of the steer wheel/joystick but it uses the position of the wheel/joystick from center to a fixed position on either side and moves the steer wheel in that manner and the steering wheel is spring loaded and returns to center position when the wheel/joystick is let go.
Now with that said the RTC steering has 2 potentiometers that control the centering points and this is what it sounds like your are calling the '2 tach generators'. These are potentiometers if i'm not mistaken. Their only purpose is to set the centering point of the steering according to the service information i'm reading.

Now as far as the error you said you were getting 'd line sensor ko fault' , i've looked through all the listed fault and warning codes and do not see this listed in any of the controllers.
From what the display shows it should tell you the error code and the module it is associated with. The display should change and show in the top RH side in a little box. The box will show a wrench and say something like, (this is just an example) ALARM ON MOD 1/0 and then describe the alarm like: CAB RES ENC FAIL.

So if you know the module and it is in fact an EPS problem then it should display warning or error on MOD6 and then the description of the warning/error.

i just don't understand how you determined it is a steering error code without mention which module (controller) it is on.
FYI:
Module 1 = SICOS
Module 2 = AC2 Traction
Module 5 = AC2 Pump
Module 6 = EPS AC
Module 9 = MHYRIO
Module 11/0 FWD Antenna (for wire guided trucks)
Module 11/1 REV Antenna (for wire guided trucks)

tell me what module it is on according to the display warning/error

strange but there is a separate manual for the wire guidance part for module 11 but i don't see it anywhere. Knowing hyster i'd have to special order that just to see it :o/

I'll keep looking though

Is there any way of disabling one of the tacho steering units?
