Toyota 7FGCU25:
Horn issue

Hey guys,

I have this 7FGCU25 model and the horn doesn't work. I checked my wiring from the fuse box to the horn and I have 12V on both sides of the horn (I think they are directly feeded positive from fuxebox and the horn button provides the negative?).

I cleaned all the parts in the horn, they were a little dirty but nothing excessive. I am guessing there is a problem in that white platic module underneath the steering wheel, but I am not sure what to check in there. I see 2 copper pins that seems to do the contact, checked if I had voltage there. When pressing the horn button I have voltage on both of those copper pins.

What could be the thing here? Only a bad wire?

These pins do wear out & are easily replaceable - they are also meant to be lightly lubricated.

There sprung loaded inside the white plastic module.

If you short those 2 pins out the horn should sound.

The contact rings on the back of the steering wheel can also suffer from burnt sprung contacts - cleaning them up normally works wonders.
