I was also thinking to run a new wire from fuse box over new relay stright to it
Also to wire to be hot only on ignition switching
Any thoughts on this ?

I'm pretty sure that on that model it's under the air filter housing, what year is the truck?

Under the dashboard there's a fuse box, there's a 2amp fuse which controls the power to the gas solenoid. Only other thing that controls it from there is the traction module.
Hope this helps
