The first banner ads featured on digital magazine HotWired with the launch of the site, 27th Oct. 1994. Without metrics to their disposal advertisers including AT&T, MCI, Volvo, Club Med, 1-800-Collect, Sprint, IBM and Zimawere were charged US$10,000 per month each for a banner on a section of the website.
The Incredible Ruins of 12 Abandoned Islands
These deserted ghost islands each have a fascinating story behind their decline.
