Yeah, Aaron said right, Japenese genuine parts is quite good but too expensive. To my expenrence, most of my clients like to choose OEM parts&replacement for its competitive price and good quality, especially the OEM parts is nearly as good as genuine parts. and sincerely you can get the best parts, no matter it is Genuine or OEM or Replacement.
I would recommend that you try to use genuine parts as often as possible. The money that you save in the short term will end up being spent many times over in the long term when using aftermarket parts.
On some occasions genuine parts are in fact cheaper than the aftermarket equivalents, a lot of people don't give the genuine supplier a go and miss out on this.
Ask yourself this question the next time you go to replace a part, how long was it in use before you had to replace it? Sometimes the parts you need to replace are fitted when the forklift is manufactured. Genuine parts are always a better investment as they are designed and engineered to suit your unit only however if you can afford the downtime then go for the cheaper quality aftermarket alternatives.
One other advantage of using genuine parts is the fact that you get the correct part for you forklift first go 99% of the time as the dealer has the most accurate up to date technical and product information for your forklift. They can also provide specific technical support as they deal with only the one make of forklift.
I have use both tvh and emc parts. they do the job to a degree but sometimes it is be better to use oem parts. But you can get non original
parts for forklift that do job.
best place to get parts is directly from a Nissan dealer. I don't know how it is down under, but in the US, Nissan oem parts are reasonably priced and parts supply for models dating back to the Datsuns of the late seventies is still good, very few parts being obsolete. I work for a Nissan dealer thats been in buisness since the seventies and service all types of Nissans on a regular basis. Since I do work for a dealership obviously I use nearly 100% oem Nissan parts, But I have found that after market Toyota parts are inferior to oem, so its not an unheard-of problem.
