Hi there
I have lived and worked in the US and Canada as well as here in the UK.
I found that I was well respected by the forklift industry in both countries over there. I did have an advantage in the fact that I had a broard insight in both UK and US type of controllers fitted to the electric trucks. If you are only working on ICE then you will have to get used to different carb and ignition system to the UK and some of their termanology is different. As far as getting knowledge can be difficult to obtain, unless you work for a main dealership.
I workrd for Yale for many years and still spent a lot of time on training courses, even though I had been in the biz for over 30 years working on all sorts.
I guess if you like the heat Florida or Texas is a great place to work, I was in Boston and the people there are great.
Getting a job is easy but getting landed immigrant status is another problem , so you should check that out first.
Good luck! if you need some contacts let me know

Fact of the week
The dot-com bubble, a period of large and rapid investments in internet-based companies, peaked in 2000 and saw the Nasdaq Composite index rise by 579%. Then the bubble imploded. As the value of tech stocks plummeted, cash-strapped internet start-ups became worthless and collapsed.
