Discussion:
Engine won't idle

I refilled the propane tank after running dry, connected it and ran the forklift for about 30 minutes with no problems.
2 days later, I started it and now it won't idle at all.
I have to hold the accelerator down to get it to start and keep it running with the pedal. It's sort of like it was gas engine that was flooded. It also sounds like it may be missing on 1 cylinger or running lean or something.
There's 6000 hrs on the engine and it was running perfectly.
I also tried adjusting what looks like a mixture adjustment on the carb with no results.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, we did power wash the engine but that was a couple days before this happened and it was working fine after the washing. I will check the dist cap for moisture anyway.

The forklift is propane only.
I checked whatever hoses were accessible and found none disconnected or loose.

I really need to familiarize myself with this machine.
Anyone know where I can get a service manual?

StableBob;
You might look at the elec. control circuit. If I recall it had an engine revolution detection switch in circuit which recieved a signal from the distributor. Also, you may find two solinoid fuel control valves. If you have dual fuel truck you have an LPG supply switch next to the steer col. that is the control for the shut off valve. Next look at the vac. hoses to be sure they are alright.
