ok it is a self contained system inside the distributor
i do not have any specs to check for inside the distributor but if you are loosing spark/fire then the coil module inside there or the pick up unit is the culprit. If it were me i would replace both of them along with the rotor button and distributor cap.
You CAN just replace the coil module and pickup unit and probably get by doing just that, but if you want to insure it is fixed and rule out the other less expensive components too that is always an alternative.

And another tid bit of info, when you order your parts get OEM parts, do not let them sell you the aftermarket parts, they just do not hold up well enough.

Thanks to both of you.
I do have he solid state all in the distributor, I have battery voltage to the distributor, swapped everything but the coil over from another forklift that was operational, still no fire.
I was hoping for resistance or voltage checks on the coil to verify it is bad before telling customer he has to buy a new one.
Thanks again for your input.

First thing I would check is to make sure you have voltage going to the positive side of the coil.......
