Crown WAV50-118:
Crown Wave Intermittent Slow Travel

Been fighting a Crown Wave that has in intermittent slow travel issue. No fault codes are set in active or historic faults when this occurs.
Both speed and operator presence override switches are in fast / safe mode when this occurs, but travel speed is reduced to a creep at same speed as when operator presence switch is in bypass mode.
Problem seems to clear when keyswitch is cycled.

Problem has been very intermittent and hard to duplicate. I have only been able to make it occur twice. Once when I deliberately hit a bump hard enough to shake the truck, and once for no apparent reason. I suspect a loose connection somewhere, but have been unable to locate anything thus far.

Did you lose the high speed input for both puf and ff travel?

Thanks for all the input guys!

Finally got this thing to act up in a repeatable manner.
Throttle is showing 100% and batteries are fully charged.

I'm losing my Hi speed switch input to the controller, and seem to have lost if for good finally.

Schematic doesn't clearly show which switch it is. Can anyone clarify what it is called?
I suspect it is shown as HSS in the schematic, and looks to input to the dash display, which then signals the controller via CANBUS.
Switch itself tests good.
Am I right?

It sounds like the unit is doing what it is supposed to do, check your traction speed pot it could be going bad, usually if there are no fault codes and it will not travel the right speed it's in the speed pot accelerator circuit, Good Luck..

Don't see any switches changing when this occurs, and batteries were replaced about 6 weeks back, with genuine Crown ones. All connections at batteries are good and batteries are fully charged.

I work on Turret trucks..
With the handset you can check the height switches and presence switch inputs, sounds like an issue with one of those.

Thanks Popeye,

Gate switches show open/closed properly when monitoring with Curtis handset.
The truck slows down when gates are closed, but the slow travel speed I am getting is even slower than the gate closed speed.

Check your gate switches and connections. Truck will slow down if only one or both gates are closed.
