Discussion:
Common Electromagnetic Holding Brake Voltages

What would you say are the most common controller's brake output voltages for electromagnetic holding brakes?

Sorry, I think my question was not clear.
Electromagnetic holding brakes have voltage ratings. I would like to know what are the most common voltages used.
Thanks.

and they are spring loaded so the "holding" (stopping) voltage is 0 vdc, while battery voltage is most often used to release the brakes. there is far more likely that the air gap is too large or too small if you are having problems.

"it's not rocket surgery"
Hi Solo
Usually the brake Has a positive voltage supplied by either the key switch or an interlock switch(like a tiller switch or dead man switch) and the controller supplies the negative.
Hope this helps.
