Found my problem today, the harness is siamesed to one of the hydraulic hoses on the pight side of the pantogragh and is routed over two diffrent rollers on the reach arms(double reach truck)...on the back side of the pulley is a guide will a small piece slide over it to keep the hose/harness centered on the larger guide pulley, well the harness somehow got wrapped up under this smaller guide and it tore into the harness/wires,causing the issue when the reach was fully extended. Repaired it temporarily until i can get the new harness as this one is pretty tore up
the one thing you said that gets me thinking it may be the pantograph harness is you say when you are reaching out is when it fails.
I would start there first
ohming out the harness shouldnt be too hard
might take 2 people but still it should be relatively easy to check.
cut or crushed harnesses in pantographs is a fairly common thing, especially if they are not routed right or tied down correctly (out of the way).
i have this trouble in a NEW forklift, and i find......
the wires in to the handle are crushed, only re-routed these wires and the problem was solved.
try it... may be you trouble is the same....
Switche's are good, just replaced, yes the power steering works also, just seems at times when reaching it will loose hydraulic functions,lift/lower reach tilt and side shift, going to check for broken wires in the pantograph, also after looking at the wiring schematic i am going to check wiring from brake switch that is common to all the solenoid coils it looks.
For the lift/lower I would check the switches and contactor. The aux funtions are seperate. Does the power steering work? That uses the same motor as the aux functions. Than check the leds on the card. The manual explains what they mean.
Thanks Carlos, but i already have the manual, and no i am not changing out the solenoid card.
Hi Kevin, check you email.
