Check engine light

GC35S Serial # P500124
This machine has a check engine light on, cannot communicate with laptop, and when we try to do the flash codes it does not show it has any codes. After clearing light (by using pedal trick) as soon as we crank it over the light comes back on, but still wont show a stored code?? Anyone have any ideas? I am starting to lean towards the ECU....???

Measure the resistance value across the two wires on the diagnostic port connector where you hook up the laptop. There should be around 120 ohms, if not there is a bad/broken resistor in the harness. It is soldered into the harness about 6-10" from that connector.

yes got it fixed. Ended up finding broken wire between ecu and connector for laptop, laptop showed oxygen sensor code, replaced and o.k. now.
Pedal trick is koeo (key on engine off) accel pedal to the floor and fully released 3 times in 3 seconds and it will do "flash codes". To clear codes do pedal dance 10 times within 10 seconds, and code should clear.
Thanks.
