cat m50d

Unit has MicroCommand, accelreates with no load wheels in the air , when machine is on the ground it will not move until the 1A contactor closes then the unit goes full speed. I removed the transistors and they checked out alright. I thought it may be in the accelerator optical switches, but I was wrong. Any ideas?

Thanks Jeremy

Thanks for the reply, I will check those things if I can. I ended up sending it the shop today due to the rain, if it rains tommorow like it did today I may follow it in, if not it may be someone elses job. It is up to my manager now.

Recheck drive transistors, they may be degenerating. Curent Limit set too low. Bad head cap. Check D4D & D5D (flyback & plugging diodes) If it a M50DSA, the regen contact may not be closing right away which would cause very low power, usually no drive at all.
