Discussion:
Bendi-Flexi-AM

I am a warehouding company, looking to better utilise floorspace, went down the turret truck path but our buildings to small/awkward to utilise efficiently.
We currnrtly use reach trucks but 3mt isles are a waste.
Has anyone got experience with the articulated types Bendi/ Flexi/ Aisle master, especially service and parts backup in Australia, seems like the agents here dont seem to stay agents for long which rings bells.
Also adverts seem to indicate upwards of 1.6mt isles, seems like that would be too tight to be efficient, anyone have experience with what is a practicle isle width?
We have a fast turnover of stock so speed of handling is quite important.

Aisle Master are supported by Adapt a Lift in Australia.
They're probably the biggest forklift dealer in Australia and they also supporting Hyster, Combilift & Agria.

Bendi is supported in Australia by..............you guessed it, Bendi Australia. There have been some unsuccesful dealers in the past but these guys really know what they are doing are are fully committed to after sales support. You can contact them at [email address removed] or 1300 462 363. If you are looking to save space the Bendi can genuinly work in 1900mm aisles with Australian Pallets and the trucks work great outside too. Don't take my word for it, give them a call and go see some customers that are raving about the product.

I would also suggest a consideration of how often your operators will be on and off the machines, and if your operation requires a lot of getting off the machine, then consider a "stand up counter balanced" unit some times called "dock stocker" style unit.

"it's not rocket surgery"
Seems to me you are working on this bass ackwards. You have fast throughput but want space efficiency and to squeeze every last drop out of not good buildings.
1. Can you consolidate into a good/or purpose built built building
2. Is speed more important than space, if so you'll have to give up one or have a mixed solution. Use one type of truck captive to aisle and one type to load trucks. Have some sort of P&D interface between them.
3. If not then Aislemaster is great solution because it does both, built like a brick shithouse out of off the shelf OEM parts and it works.
I don't sell them I do racks but I have a customer who went to them about 3 years ago and loves them. A lot of these machines are as delicate as Ferrari's (Bendi waiting for parts from UK) but this thing is like a rock crawling jeep.

The Aislemaster is by far the most reliable, very simple to work on not sure type of support you have in Australia.

Grubbymits has a point but if you are looking to save space and increase your capacity they are an option. Just be aware that they do need more looking after than a normal machine and subsequently cost more to run. If i had to go with one of the 3 mentioned i would go with the Flexi.

The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
