I hooked up a back up alarm to a Clark c500y s60. The alarm beeps like it should until I start the motor. When it is running the alarm goes nuts. I took the alarm and hooked straight to battery to bypass switch and wires. And it still does it. I have even switched alarms and it still does it. I check the volts on battery Running it is 14.17 and off its 12.4.
I hooked the alarm up to my car battery and it works perfect off or running. The volts on my car are 12.6 off and 14.7. The alarm is rated from 12v to 24.
The weird thing is I installed the same alarm to a newer lift and it works perfect. Then I also installed the same alarm to another older Clark and it does the same thing. A couple different people I spoke to think it could be because the 2 forklifts that the alarm isnt working properly on is because of interference because they have points. And another guy thinks its the spark plugs.

spark plug wires, but the answer is to make what we used to call as hash filter, it's a diode (about a 10d6) and a pancake capacitor, about like what you find between some crown forklift GE contactors.
maybe possibility of a constant alarm vs a smart alarm?
I was wondering if I could put some kind of resister, filter on the positive side to help correct this issue?
