It would make since to because of there joint venture together, have you ever put a TCM FD70 next to a Heli FD70 or what about a TCM FD100 next to a Heli FD100 ?????????????? Clark did soemething dumb like this back in the day, way back in the day. Look at Clark now.... They helped TCM, TCM helps Heli....
I remember when HELI came into the market, they told everyone that it was the same truck as a TCM....
TCM closes US Factory moves to Japan???????
Just some inside info I over heard but from what I understand TCM (aka) Hitachi wants out of the lift truck business. Hitachi or TCM is trying to make the company resume look good for purchase. I also heard that the National Sales Manager is no longer with TCM as well.......
Wow, Nissan is getting out of the lift truck business, looks like TCM is going to follow.....The business is changing. Who knows what it will be a year from now.....

Doc
Well, just spoke with another insider this afternoon, sad to hear but TCM (aka) Hitachi is looking for someone to buy the materail handling divsion from TCM....It was thought that Heli would be a great buyer because of there deal in China... TCM did help Heli with their R&D and biulding of a forklift. Much like Clark did with TCM in the (50s) TCM (aka) Hitachi wants to focus on the mining business and heavy earthmoving equipment. TCM has a small dealer network with cash limits. Most TCM dealers sell out of a pamplet and have little capital to work with. Thus being said the sell off at TCM should not hurt its dealer network.
Im just woundering if not HELI, then who would by the product line from TCM. One has to say that the market is changing very fast, we have already seen the Yale and Hyster people merge togehter in some parts of the country. With the massive decline within the (ITA) I think we will see some product lines fade off within the next two years or so.

Nissan spins off forklift division
Tokyo, Japan
Thursday, 20 May 2010
Nissan Motor Co wants to spin off its industrial machinery division to boost its autonomy and create a flexible management structure so that it can achieve sustainable growth.
Company spokesman Mitsuru Yonekawa tells Forkliftaction.com News that a feasibility study was commenced at the end of 2009 for the spin-off and more details would be available at a later stage.
Yonekawa declines to elaborate on how the division's employees will be impacted by the spin-off, saying instead that Nissan is studying "possible alternatives for the employees".
The industrial machinery division, which manufactures counterbalance and warehouse forklifts and tow tractors, employs about 2,500 people and has production facilities in Japan, Spain, Sweden and the US.
For financial year 2009, Nissan Motor's total sales were JPY7.5137 trillion (USD81.782 billion). Sales from the industrial machinery division totaled JPY61.3 billion (USD667.2 million) or about 1% of total group sales.
where can i verify any of the Nissan info? i have some very good freinds that, may and possibly are being affected by such an event. any info at all would be greatly appreciated.
Nissan motor group will not let the nissan brand go the will sell the company but not the brand all will be renamed At Let. Brand
image is ever thing and Nissan will not want to let that brand image get damaged by another company
Nissan name itself is not going anywhere. But the Nissan motor company (the car segment) is spinning off it industrial unit. (Forklifts) they will be sold to someone im sure..... Good or bad the business is going to be changing with several downsizes.
What do you mean about Nissan getting out of the forklift business?
