Discussion:
2003 Daewoo GC25E

Our company is looking to add a new forklift and i found a 2003 Daewoo GC25E. Its 5000lbs capacity, 3 stage. Lift looks to be in great shape and drove well.

Don't know much about forklifts but wanted to know:

1. Is this model reliable in terms of engine and other parts?
2. Has 4600 hrs on it, is that excessive?
3. Our forklift service guy swears by toyota and said Daewoo is not good, it that the consensus

Guy is asking $5,000, seems like great price. Should I go for this or look at similar Toyota lifts for $7000-8000. Is it worth it to spend the extra.

Thanks very much in advance for any input.

I'd make sure there is a service/parts distributor in your area. Doesn't matter how good/cheap a machine is if you can't get parts/service.

Another vote for the Daewoo. The ones I work on hold up very well and are reliable. Toyotas hold up pretty good too but have more things that can go wrong with them. $5000 seems like a bargin.

In my opinion you cant go wrong with the daewoo they hold up better than a toyota in my book and the brakes will hold out better especially if it has the oil cooled disc brakes. I have worked on both and the daewoo is better and are more reliable. and 4600 hrs isnt that bad as long as it hasnt been abused to bad.
