Mick Kinley of Australian Maritime Safety Authority, acting CEO of AMSA
Michael (Mick) Kinley was appointed General Manager, Maritime Operations in August 2005 and then Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Maritime Operations Division in October 2008. He is now the Deputy Chief Executive Officer overseeing the Maritime Operations Division, Maritime Standards Division and Maritime Environment Division.
Prior to this Mick was Manager, Ship Inspections where he was responsible for Australia's port State and flag State inspections regime.

Mick joined the Australian Maritime Safety Authority as a Marine Surveyor in 1994. Commencing in Cairns, he relocated to Brisbane and then moved to the AMSA head office as Principal Adviser, Legislation.

Prior to joining AMSA, Mick had an extensive career with BHP having commenced his career as an engineer cadet with BHP Transport. He sailed with the BHP fleet before undertaking various shore-based roles including fleet safety instructor and project engineer.
