NSW 23rd September 2011 - Display and Storage 14 Church St Moorebank

Drivers are to be onsite for an 8.30 am start. Make sure you wear enclosed shoes. Briefing is at 8.45am and names are drawn to see who is the first contestant to drive. Each contestant will be allocated approx 25 minutes to complete the course. Novelty event follows. Finalists are advised at the end of the day.

2011 GRAND FINAL

The 2011 grand final for the National Forklift Championship will be held on the 28th October 2011 in Sydney. Winners of state and regional heats will compete at this event. This event will be run in conjunction with The Sydney Safety Show and Materials Handling Exhibition. The organisers have received many registrations to compete. Woolworths in NSW have particiapnts from five different DC's including Wyong, Albury Wodonga.
Plans are well advanced to have the New Zealand champions participate.

IN HOUSE HEATS

We are working with a number of companies to offer in house competitions. This has been a most useful prcess to lift forklift saffety awareness in the company and a useful way to change driver attitudes and improve their skill sets. Most companies are offering in house prizes and other benefits. Safety week continues to grow around Australia. If you want to include forklift operations as part of safety week, consider holding a competition.

In house heats are a great way to involve your operators. The heats also help to sharpen operator skills and safe operation of the equipment to the National Standard. Why not ask your managers or HR and safety people to request an in-house kit and get your company involved.




The emphasis of the competition is on safety not speed.
