New York Stock Exchange-listed EnerSys has launched the NexSys Air wireless charger for automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

The system, which has contact-free charging pads, is capable of charging traditional flooded lead acid, thin plate pure lead (TPPL) and lithium-ion batteries.

“With no physical connectors to wear out and no manual labour, the NexSys Air wireless charger delivers dependable, maintenance-free AGV charging, helping customers fulfill the promise of true automation” says Harold Vanasse, senior director of marketing, motive power global at EnerSys.

Vanasse says the chargers have a space-saving design and can be distributed across a variety of locations throughout facilities.

Each unit has touchscreen controls and advanced safety features that include Foreign Object Detection (FOD) and Live Object Detection (LOD).

“As the latest solution in our line of maintenance-free motive power products, the NexSys Air wireless charger maximizes AGV uptime with opportunity charging, helping facilities to really drive productivity,” Vanasse says.
