An Athens woman was killed at the lumber yard where she worked on Monday.

According to local media reports, the accident occurred at Sunbelt Forest Products Corporation on Highway 127 in Athens.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West identified the victim as 45-year-old Cassandra Hill.

In a statement, Sunbelt Forest Products president Ken Dell Donne says: “We’ve been made aware of a tragic accident at our Athens, Alabama plant, which we are investigating. The employees in our Athens plant are a close-knit group and we share their sadness at the loss of our colleague.”
