The US Industrial Truck Association (ITA) will this year offer a hybrid National Forklift Safety Day event on June 10 with an option for those wanting to attend in person and another for those who want to attend the Washington event virtually.

The National Forklift Safety Day event will be held at the National Press Club from 9am EDT and is open to everyone. It will include government representatives, safety experts, and industry representatives.

Speakers on the day will include Brian Feehan, president, Industrial Truck Association and Brett Wood, ITA chairman of the board and president and CEO of Toyota Material Handling North America.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been invited to send a representative to speak and they will be joined by Crown Equipment’s director of product safety Ron Grisez, DHL Supply Chain’s director of health, safety & environment Jonathan Fortkamp and Lisa Brooks, principal with Nexus HSE.

Feehan says of this year’s event: “ITA is excited to host the 12th National Forklift Safety Day and to keep safety top of mind”.

“We understand the importance of effective forklift operator training, and ITA's National Forklift Safety Day is meant to keep that discussion at the forefront year after year.”

ITA’s membership is comprised of industry manufacturers of forklifts, tow tractors, rough terrain vehicles, hand-pallet trucks and automated guided vehicles throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. The ITA says it represents 90% of the forklift manufacturers in the United States and Canada.

You can register to attend ITA’s National Forklift Safety Day, in person or virtually, here.

Forkliftaction's JOB MARKET

It’s the year 2000. You’re in front of a boxy beige desktop waiting for the screeching ramblings of your dial-up to reach its finale. You go to Yahoo!, MSN, or maybe AOL, and start the mind-numbing process of finding your very specific needle in the digital haystack. And with web pages loading one image at a time, patience isn’t just a virtue – it’s a requirement!

As clumsy as this early iteration seems now, this technology was the great enabler that allowed Forkliftaction to connect to the industry across the globe.

To everyone who has connected with Forkliftaction in the past 25 years, thank you for your contribution to our success! We feel deeply touched by your words of encouragement.
