A teenage boy has been run over and crushed by a forklift in a workplace accident north of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the industrial area on Tuesday.

Firefighters helped to free the teenager who was trapped under the forklift and he was rushed to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a serious condition with significant leg and pelvic injuries.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are investigating.
