Bott has kitted out STILL UK's forklift service vehicles, which will be used by its field engineers to service and repair STILL forklifts in the UK.
The 17 Ford Transit Custom vans, which have been fitted with the Bott Vario range of vehicle racking and decaled with STILL's corporate branding, joins the forklift manufacturer's existing service fleet of 45 vehicles. The value of the contract is confidential.
STILL engineers also use the vehicles to transport and store tools like jacks, spares, lubricants, electronic parts, laptop computers and printers.
Steve Howell, STILL UK's transport manager, says the racking in the vehicles are mainly for health and safety purposes. "An efficient organisation means tools and equipment are safely stored and do not cause danger to the driver in the vehicle in case of accidents.
"It also ensures that our investment in top quality tools is protected, they are looked after and easy to locate which saves time and energy when our engineers are servicing STILL equipment."
Bott's Darren Cooper says his company created 3D renderings of the racking's final specification after assessing STILL's needs.
The Bott Vario racking is about 30% lighter than its predecessor, which is good for STILL as the forklift company has a wide range of heavy items to keep in the vehicles while keeping to payload restraints.
"When I met with Steve Howell, I demonstrated the benefits of the innovative weight-saving technology, which is engineered into the Vario range," Cooper explains. "STILL's engineers cover long distances to provide onsite support to customers, meaning it was ever more important to create an efficient and long-lasting solution to cover all of their engineers' requirements now and moving into the future."
"Also our lightweight Vario system ensured that STILL could reduce [its] fuel costs whilst carrying the same stock levels as they have been used to," he adds.
The Bott Vario range provides bespoke working space that can include drawers, shelving units, removable service cases, lockers, laptop trays, retractable vices, restraining straps and other accessory equipment.
The vehicles were built at Bott's Ashby vehicle conversion centre earlier this year.
Bott manufactures and supplies in-vehicle equipment including fleet van conversions, workshop cabinets and storage solutions.
