Damage to goods in connection with loading and unloading amounts to multi-million losses for many companies.

Right now, the Swedish forklift manufacturer Semax is attracting huge interest throughout Europe, as its forklifts significantly reduce damage to goods.

The reason for this is the driver environment in a Semax forklift which, compared to traditional forklifts, gives the driver maximum visibility when driving, loading, and unloading.

”Our forklifts will save money for our customers.”

Tobias Ingemarsson, Managing Director

The paper and steel industry are two growing customer groups for the Swedish forklift manufacturer Semax Material Handling AB.

“The goods handled in the paper and steel industry are of high value. Every paper reel, pulp bale, or sheet metal coil that is damaged results in huge financial losses for the company. With our forklifts, our customers have reduced damage to goods, and that’s one of the reasons for our success,” says Tobias Ingemarsson, Managing Director of Semax.

Let’s go back to 1986. It was then that the idea was born for the innovation which is now the basis for Semax’s success. Traditional forklifts have the mast in front of the cab, which greatly reduces the view.

On Semax forklifts, the mast is located behind the cab, which gives the driver unlimited visibility. Operating the forklift becomes both easier and safer. In practice, this means that the driver always has full visibility when driving. During loading and unloading, which often requires high precision, the benefits of good visibility are even more apparent. Semax forklifts also have a built-in extension that offers great flexibility. For example, when loading paper reels, Semax forklifts are able to load all the goods onto a lorry or train from just one side. That’s why the built-in extension also saves time.

“Of course, we sell forklifts to all industries, but we primarily aim ourselves at companies that handle fragile and expensive goods in their day-to-day operations. We know that our forklifts will save big amounts of money for our customers. We’re making a difference,” says Ingemarsson.

Semax has been part of the Inev Group for the past three years, with sales of SEK 1.3 billion. The strategy for Semax is to grow, not least internationally.

“Our forklifts are fantastic and we have every opportunity to achieve our goals of both selling more forklifts and being present in more markets. We have a forklift programme based on almost 40 years of experience. Thanks to our strong owner, we have both the skills and resources needed to become a major player in the industry.”

“Within the group, we also produce our own hydraulic cylinders, cabs, as well as other wheeled machines, for example. Our combined resources and skills give us excellent opportunities to grow,” Ingemarsson continues.

The Semax forklift model programme has a load capacity from 6 to 25 tonnes. The forklifts come with electric or diesel drive with Stage V engines.

“Regardless of which forklift the customer chooses, we’ll supply a solution that reduces damage to goods and thus saves the customer a significant amount of money.”
