Battery exchange equipment specialist Sackett Systems Inc has established a sales and marketing office in Almelo, the Netherlands to focus on business development and growth in Europe.
"We realised that we needed a physical branch office for the support of our European customers, an increase in demand and further growth plans in the European Union," says Daniel Dwyer, newly appointed president of Bensenville-based Sackett Systems. Dwyer became president on 20 June after serving as Sackett vice president and general manager.
Sackett Systems Europe has named Emre Aykaç as business development manager Europe for the two-person local team in Almelo near the German border.
"Sackett Systems is pleased to increase its commitment to the European marketplace," Dwyer says. "We look forward to serving the European market place with regards to battery handling systems."
Among its technologies, Sackett Systems is promoting an advanced Northstar unmanned battery changing system. The fully automated, high-speed system can perform battery changes in one minute or less through separating the Super-XChanger battery change-out system from the HK3000/RF ASRS battery storage and retrieval system.
The system uses laser-distance measuring to precisely move, position and map each battery location and is co-ordinated with an integrated guardian battery management system for optimised battery rotation.
Sackett says the system can save at least 40% floor space versus traditional battery changing solutions. A Northstar 300-battery storage application uses 10-tier high battery storage racks.
"We have had inquires and provided quotes on the Northstar, but no-one has purchased it yet," Dwyer notes.
Leonard J Maniscalco continues as Sackett Systems chief executive officer, concentrating on redefining the firm's vision, strategy and market engagement.
Founded in 1897, Sackett Systems fabricates steel for materials handling equipment that it designs and engineers. The firm specialises in industrial battery exchange equipment and automated parking systems.
