Finish company Renta Group and Belgian outfit Key-Tec have been named rental companies of the year by the European Rental Association (ERA).

Renta Group took out the Large Rental Company of the Year Award, while Key-Tec won the Small and Medium-Sized Rental Company of the Year Award at the 17th annual ERA Convention.

Other winners included:

  • Hilti (Liechtenstein) for its Nuron range in the Rental Product of the Year category;
  • Boels Group (Netherlands) and Zeppelin Rental (Germany) were joint winners in the ERA Sustainability Committee Award: Best Initiative in People category;
  • Boels Rental chief procurement officer Guy Cremer won the ERA/IRN Rental Person of the Year Award; and
  • CGT Edilizia managing director Max Rossi took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The topic of this year’s ERA convention was “investing in people”.

Opening the convention, ERA president and Loxam Group managing Director Stéphane Henon, said: “Without our people, we wouldn’t deliver any services to our customers and we wouldn’t be able to continue to thrive as an industry, as we currently are despite the war in Ukraine, global supply chain disruptions and high inflation.

“The challenges of attracting, recruiting and retaining people are common to us all.”

The convention was attended by 350 people from 24 countries.
