Inmates have completed a forklift programTwelve Richmond County Correctional Institution inmates in Georgia have completed Augusta Technical College’s forklift operator program.
Augusta Tech taught the two-day course at the institution, where inmates had received their certificates, according to WRDW-TV News 12.
The inmates were provided formal classroom instruction with evaluation and hands-on training following Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
The city of Augusta, together with Augusta Technical College, aims to provide inmates with employment opportunities when they leave the correctional institution.
