Readers would have been shocked by the recent headline in the business press proclaiming that "the world economy is stumbling toward disaster".
The bleak warning came on the back of last weekend's meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors in Washington.
But the materials handling sector seems to be somewhat removed from the perils of the slow-down - and we were recently struck by the optimism at IMHX, despite the uncertainty about Brexit, the US-China trade war and poorer economic conditions.
Let's hope this survival sentiment is reflected in the next round of financial reports.
