The accident occurred at Home Depot's distribution centreA 61-year-old man has died of his injuries from a forklift accident at a warehouse, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
Russell Molter, of Zionsville in Lehigh County, was involved in the accident at work in Breinigsville, Upper Macungie Township, according to a report on lehighvalleylive.com.
The accident at Home Depot’s distribution centre involved a collision between two forklifts, resulting in injuries to Molter, police report. Officers provided first aid to Molter and assisted Cetronia Ambulance, but Molter was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township.
An autopsy determined the death was caused by blunt-force injuries to his left lower extremity due to the forklift accident, chief deputy coroner Kelly Mouer confims.
A Home Depot statement describes Molter as a “caring and compassionate person who always made time to share advice or share a piece of news about his beloved Philadelphia Eagles with his coworkers”.
The death is being investigated by Upper Macungie police and the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
