A dock worker has suffered crush injuries to his foot in a forklift incident at the Port of Napier.

The accident victim was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with serious injuries, according to a port official.

The accident scene has been cordoned off, WorkSafe has been notified, and police have attended the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and details of the accident have not been confirmed.
