Linde adds visibility

Linde Material Handling has launched a Surround View multi-camera safety system for forklifts.

Linde claims its new safety solution goes beyond the bird view system solutions used in automobiles. The image display is still based on live data from cameras mounted around the truck, but instead of a single overall image, the system generates a front, a rear and two lateral fields of vision. The big advantage of this solution is that the camera views are displayed 1:1 as a split screen on the monitor at the driver's workstation.

When driving forward, all four viewing areas are shown on the display by default. During reversing, the display changes to the rear and two lateral fields of vision. The driver therefore recognises possible collision hazards early on.

More visibility also means higher productivity, according to Linde. Drivers can work more efficiently, quickly and ergonomically. For example, during storing, they can see what is going on in front of the forklift arms - even if the load obstructs visibility.

"The new option will be initially offered for all counterbalance models with a load capacity of 4 T or more," says Frank Bergmann, product manager - counterbalance trucks at Linde Material Handling. Especially in narrow working areas and during manoeuvring operations, the system provides real benefit, as "every angle around the vehicle is visible to the operator. And this is particularly important for operational safety in areas where space is limited or where people and forklifts are likely to cross paths."

I know I can count on them. They give valuable suggestions on the campaign planning, and to publish content is as easy as abc, as they take care of the material layout and check links. This is a great support.
